Clinical Research of Rock Hill is devoted to providing an exceptional experience for all those involved in the clinical research process. Through dedicated teamwork, Integrity of data, and respect for patient safety, we strive to promote the advancement of medicine and facilitate the future of healthcare. Clinical Research of Rock Hill is a clinical research site in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Our business hours are Mon-Fri: 8am-5pm. Our staff has extensive clinical research experience.

CRRH was founded May 2012, is owned by Selwyn Spangenthal, MD and operates under the American Health Research Network. The benefit to the pharmaceutical sponsors is that CRRH offers an expedited start-up process by centralizing contract and budget processing at American Health Research. CRRH has a quick turn-around time on processing regulatory documents and utilizes a Central IRB.

Our Staff

 Kelly Woodell, CCRC    
Site Director
Kelly joined American Health Research in December 2012.  She has been in the research field since 2004. Her clinical research experience includes COPD, asthma, diabetes, hypertension, women’s health, inflammatory disease, and dermatology. She enjoys vacationing, reading, and spending time with her family and friends. 

Cheryl Bongermino, BS, CCRC 
Certified Clinical Research Coordinator, Staff Team Lead
Cheryl moved to NC in 2007 from Florida, where she resided most of her life. Cheryl's background is as a Medical Assistant for 20 years. She has been a Clinical Research Coordinator for 9 years. She has research experience in Rheumatology &  HIV.  She loves helping people and seeing the results & the impact research makes in people’s lives. Cheryl is a people person and enjoys talking to and helping others. When she is not at work, she enjoys Cross Fit and spending time with her family and friends.

Alison Mathews
Clinical Research Coordinator, Site Staff Trainer

Alison joined Clinical Research of Rock Hill in April 2016. She graduated from the University of Miami in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. She then worked as a certified clinical allergy specialist for five years prior to starting her career in research. Alison is an avid sports fan and loves watching her favorite teams: Miami Hurricanes, Miami Dolphins, Kentucky Wildcats, and Charlotte Hornets. She also enjoys traveling and spending time with friends and family. 

Allyson Holston, BS
Clinical Research Coordinator

Allyson joined Clinical Research of Rock Hill in September 2016 as a Research Assistant and transitioned to a Clinical Research Coordinator in April 2017. She graduated from Clemson University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Science in May 2016. In her free time Allyson enjoys drawing, painting, and spending time with her friends, family, and her dog, Cooper.

Laura Kyer, RRT
Clinical Research Coordinator

Laura Kyer began her career at CRRH in June 2017. She received her associate's degree from Allegany College of Maryland in 2005. Laura began her career as a respiratory therapist at a 645 bed university hospital where she worked in Medical and Surgical ICU as well as the trauma center. She has also worked as a staff therapist at a 288 bed hospital, concentrating on ICU and Cardiovascular ICU. As a respiratory therapist with over 12 years of experience, Laura has helped numerous patients overcome serious life threatening illnesses and start the road toward a healthier lifestyle. In her free time, Laura enjoys spending time with family and friends, relaxing on the beach, and cheering on the West Virginia Mountaineers.

Laura Tscholl
Marketing Assistant

Laura joined CRRH in April 2016. She graduated from Clemson University with a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing in 2011. Laura is passionate about clinical research as it has drastically improved the life of one of her family members. In her free time she enjoys skiing, traveling, and Clemson football.

Sandra Darden   
Clinical Research Coordinator
Sandra joined American Health Research in January 2015. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from the University of South Carolina in 2013.   Sandra loves music, often playing piano at weddings and occasionally church services. She also loves her boyfriend, friends, family and her husky, Sophie.

Dr. Michael B. Denenberg  
Investigator

Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary, Sleep Disorders and Critical Care. Dr. Denenberg trained at Northwestern University Medical Center and Beth Israel Medical Center.


Dr. Arun Adlakha  
Investigator

Dr. Adlakha is board certified in Internal Medicine and Pulmonary Medicine; Board Eligible Critical Care and Sleep Disorders.  He trained at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN.  Currently Assistant Professor of Medicine at USC School of Medicine, Columbia, SC.
